We’re proud to announce that Barb Harris, Senior Program Manager at On The Scene, is featured in the Summer 2016 issue of Special Events magazine. Barb has been named one of ‘25 Young Event Pros to Watch in 2016,’ and we couldn’t be happier for her.
Special Events is dedicated to providing planners, caterers, rental operators, and other event professionals with the latest event industry news and trends.
According to the magazine, those who are featured are “the face and future” of the events industry, and were selected by the Advisory Board of Special Events.
Named one of the “fresh new faces” of the special events industry, Barb Harris, CSEP, DMCP, is a Senior Program Manager here at On The Scene. She brings over 10 years of experience to our team, and has a diverse background in the industry. With experience in resort management, décor design, and planning, Barb brings attention to detail, a unique perspective, and industry knowledge to each and every event. Barb recently earned her CSEP certification, which is a distinguished events industry credential that recognizes event professionals who exhibit the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform all components of a special event.
Special Events refers to Barb as “the woman about town for the Windy City,” citing her involvement in Chicago industry organizations, and her experience as former president of the Greater Chicago chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA).
Barb contributes her success to her fellow event professionals, saying “we are only as good as the information we have, so I try to give as much as I possibly can to empower my partners, and we work together to design the ultimate experience.”
Barb is a valued member of the On The Scene team, and it comes as no surprise that she has been highlighted as “a wonderful role model for young people entering the special event industry.”
